New-generation wire EDM (standard model).MG12 is a standard model in Mitsubishi Electric’s new MG series wire EDMs announced in 2025, engineered for cost performance.
Productivity & Cost (High-Productivity Class)
- Classified by Mitsubishi Electric as a high-productivity wire EDM, machine grade “standard” — prioritising throughput and cost performance
- Mechanical specifications and travels are identical to the MG-R series — the difference lies in the power supply and surface-finish performance
- The Ultra-FS super-finishing power supply is standard on the MG-R series and is not listed as standard equipment on this series
Simple Operation & AI Control
- 1 Push Technology: one switch converts the program to AI (Maisart) machining conditions; programs from other Mitsubishi Electric models can be used as they are
- Maisart nozzle-separation and corner control handle corners smaller than the wire diameter and continuous-corner geometries without condition adjustment
- No adjustment needed for complex shapes at 5μm or finer accuracy and Rz1.6μm or rougher surface finish
- Machining conditions require no adjustment regardless of setup or plate thickness
Automatic Threading & Maintenance
- iAT automatic threading: a new wire transport unit and stronger lower-side feed maintain threading performance even when the machine is soiled (ø0.3 wire excluded)
- New wire annealing control delivers stable automatic threading regardless of wire condition
- Maintenance frequency reduced to approx. 1/6; the greatly simplified work tank makes cleaning easier
Energy Saving
- Power-saving pump control optimises pump output to the machine and filter condition — lower consumption with no change to how you run it
- Wake-up mode: set end-of-shift and start-of-shift times to cut unnecessary standby power
- Up to 30% lower power consumption (under conditions specified by Mitsubishi Electric)
